In the interest of increased security and strategic flexability, Triarii is begining activation of a long-range hyperspace gate network.
Use of this network is free to member states of course, but a donation of one million credits is encouraged to help us cover expenses.
Private citizens and other, nonaligned star nations will of course be required to pay a membership fee for network use, to be negotiated.
"If we do not hang together, assuredly we shall all hang separately." This system should being the Syndicate states closer together for our mutual protection and cooperation, and bring us ALL into a brighter future.

The Royal Seneschal frowns and looks to the emperor, patching the latest public message he received that went through the cracks. It takes the Emperor a moment to read before getting a look of agitation on his face.
"*sigh* prepare to send my message.." *******
Dear Triarii states,
As you may be aware, both the Syndicate states, and the Empire are at War with a far greater foe. and have been allies since the signing of the treaty of Carn-Kir in the interest of a mutual defense agreement, the forming of official borders, and so on. I can't help but think this is Triarii states way of taking a stab at the Empire...
We have RSN fleet's on standby at the border, waiting to deploy in the defense of our confederate allies. but how do you expect us to deploy rapidly if you paywall and stop our fleet's from using the Jumpgates to arrive quickly into the affected sectors? you try to monetize the defensive initiative of the RSN forces, racing to spill their blood in foreign space.. I cannot abide by this, correct me if I am mistaken, and I have misinterpreted your message... I do hope I am mistaken. as I see, Nonaligned Star Nations as an indirect way of saying nations other than the Syndicate, aka the Rendii Empire..

To: His Grace, Emperor of Rendii From: Sir Robert Peel, Security division, Triarii inc. Subject: Hyperspace Gate Network
Dear Sir, With regard to your concerns associated with the mutual defense treaty: I am certain that steps can be taken to permit military forces unrestricted access to the gate network when on official business. Such would, of course, be greatly to the benefit of both Triarii, and the syndicate states as a whole. Imposition of gate fees is rather a step taken to try to recoup the cost of establishing the network. The fees need only apply to commercial and non-military governmental traffic. Sincerely, Sir Robert Peel

To: His Majesty, Emperor of the Rendii Empire From: Chancellor Jay Armenov, acting leader of the Triarii Conglomerate Regarding: Triarii Hyperspace Network
Dear Sir,
I think you may have mistaken our intentions. This Hyperspace network is a system that links the Syndicate States closer together; as such, the only gates that will be linked will be within or around Syndicate State territory. Any expansion to our gracious Rendii allies will of course take us more time and more money. We do not wish to milk money out of you to have you spill your blood on our soil; no, we only wish to increase cohesion within the Syndicate States as a whole. This was not a system that was intended to link the entire cluster together; no, we do not quite have the resources to do so, but in time that may be an eventuality. If the time comes when we may expand outside of our own borders, the Rendii will be linked in for free. I assure you.
Yours Sincerely, Jay Armenov Chancellor of the Triarii Conglomerate

To: Chancellor Jay Armenov, Sir Rober Peel from: Emperor Varhik Zelkir Subject: Jumpgate Network
Dear Sirs,
I do not understand, one says one thing, and the other says a completely different thing. what am I to believe? you can enforce a toll on Imperial citizens using your gates all you want, as long as it is not exorbitant and highway robbery. And I don't want my foreign affairs Prime getting reports flooding up the chain that your gates practically robbed them, especially at any form of gunpoint. I am concerned about RSN/Militia forces and high importance Governmental/Diplomatic figures from the Empire being able to get through financially and physically unmolested. the times when we send in a governmental figures over the border it is of a crucial matter, stopping them so they can pay a toll to use it would conflict with their mission at that time. and make me one, agitated Emperor.
Mr. Armenov, it is not a matter of linking the Syndicate and Rendii Jumpgates together. And matter a factly, there are several differences in our gates that would downright make such linking Foolhardy and dangerous. We are working ot make our Jumpgates more compatible with Syndicate designs.
I do commend Triarii for making a reliable Jump travel Infrastructure within the Syndicate. I just hope it isn't wielded as a financial weapon against Military or governmental figures bearing my Coat of Arms.
Sincerely, Emperor Varhik Zelkir

To: His Majesty, Emperor of the Rendii Empire From: Chancellor Jay Armenov Regarding: Triarii Hyperspace Network
Dear Sir,
I believe you are misinterpreting what this network is. This is a system of gates that will link every Syndicate State together to allow for easy travel and easy deployment of forces among Syndicate States. We do not have the time nor the resources to expand outside of our territories, with barely enough of both to put a gate in every Syndicate territory. This service is free to all citizens of the Syndicate States as it is built in their home. When time and money allow we will expand our own design of gates into and around Rendii territory, if you are willing. At the moment, time nor money allow us to expand elsewhere. Any being not a citizen of the Syndicate States will be charged the same fee to use our gates designed for our people. If a government official or military presence needs to cross into the Syndicate States for a crucial matter, you may easily contact us and we will discuss and allow them to pass through unchallenged, as is your right as our allies.
However, you are not entitled to free use at all times. These are not your gates, nor your credits, nor your time, nor your workers. When our gates are expanded to your territory you will be free to use them, but they are not and as such travel will not be free. Prior to our construction of these gates you and other star nations managed just as well. The construction of a dozen gates will not change this fact. Any citizen or un-vouched for person not affiliated with the Syndicate States will be taxed for use of our gates.
Regards, Jay Armenov Chancellor of the Triarii Conglomerate
