Now that I have finally begged, borrowed, and just plain stolen enough money from my employers to get a decent ship built, I can finally start doing something about these "Baalites" that everyone seems so worried about. Today was the maiden voyage of the "TNS Zealous Bouncer", a torpedo armed destroyer from my old navy. I am pleased to report the capture in combat of two enemy frigates, and the destruction of five more. The ship , which I had never commanded in action myself, faired fairly well, although the accommodations are spartan to say the least. The older "Establishment" Class frigates have far more spacious quarters, although this may be because they were expected to deploy for weeks, or even months at a time guarding our convoys, while the "Ardent" Class destroyers were usually stationed with the fleet. The ship did suffer a number of railgun impacts, one minor, and one major missile strike. While her turrets are formidable, the ship is not designed to go toe to toe with gun-armed vessels, but rather stand off and pound them with missiles. As I am making something of a name for myself among the Syndicate States insurance adjusters (and why anyone would insure a warship in time of war is beyond me) I opted to have the crew patch these minor holes in the hull. I estimate that the ship is now recovered to 95% capacity in armament, and has suffered no degradation to her propulsive systems.
